ASL Translation FAQ

Answers to Common Questions

ASL Translation FAQ | Jordan Sangalang
What types of content do you translate?

I specialise in documents, scripts, policies, training materials, letters, children’s books, and pre-recorded videos across industries such as finance, government, corporate training, and disability organisations.

How is this different from live interpreting?

Live interpreting is real-time communication (e.g., meetings, events). My service focuses on pre-recorded video translations – carefully scripted, recorded, and edited for permanent accessible content.

What file formats do you deliver?

Standard delivery is high-quality MP4 (1080p, 30fps). Optional formats include separate caption files (SCC/SRT) or custom deliverables upon request.

Do you provide captions or subtitles?

Yes – burned-in English captions/subtitles are available as an add-on. Separate caption files can also be provided.

What is your turnaround time?

Typical turnaround follows the tier guidelines (24–48 hours for small projects up to 4 weeks for enterprise). Rush options are available.

Can you split a long video into multiple clips?

Yes – video splitting is an optional add-on with clear flat-fee pricing based on the number of splits.

Do you offer French (LSQ) translation?

No – I specialise exclusively in American Sign Language (ASL). I focus on delivering the highest quality in my native language.

How do revisions work?

One round of minor revisions is included. Additional rounds or major changes are available at a reasonable fee.

Is my content kept confidential?

Absolutely – all materials are treated with strict confidentiality and securely handled.
